MMS Miami 2023: Trends, Experiences, and Inspirations
Janic Verboon, Senior Endpoint Engineer, had the opportunity to attend this year’s Midwest Management Summit (MMS). The MMS has served baseVISION for many years as an important learning platform to learn about current trends and features, make valuable contacts, and gather new inspirations.
We took the opportunity to ask Janic about his personal impressions and highlights of the conference.
Janic, what were your highlights of the conference? Was there a session that particularly inspired you or a discussion that excited you?
Janic: My highlight of the conference was definitely the intensive exchange with the other participants and speakers. Here I had the opportunity to talk with other IT experts about various topics and challenges. Many of the participants work for large companies in the USA and accordingly have large and complex infrastructures. It was particularly exciting to learn how they approach topics in the area of Workplace & Security Management and what challenges and problems they face.
Another highlight was definitely a short 1:1 session with a product manager from Microsoft. He is currently responsible for the further development of the App Protection for Windows features. Since I had already dealt intensively with this product during the private preview in June, he was very interested in my inputs on the product. This has now led to him inviting me to further feedback & design sessions where I can continue to provide feedback.
How did you benefit from the conference? Did you acquire new skills or knowledge that you can apply in your work?
Janic: I benefited from the conference in that I got to know completely new technologies or features in some sessions. Besides new things, I was also able to expand my knowledge in already familiar subject areas. This newly acquired knowledge will definitely help me in my daily work to serve our customers even better.
