Securitas

Client: Securitas

Security, flexibility, and mobility – these three principles are at the heart of the “OneWorkplace” project at Securitas. As security specialists, Securitas aims to ensure a secure workplace and collaborate with the best experts in the security industry. Together with baseVISION AG, Securitas has developed a long-term roadmap to create an agile and flexible workplace for employees without compromising security. In this project, security was optimized and maximized thanks to Microsoft E5 security technologies. The new workplace has strengthened employee trust and boosted their engagement – a win-win solution for all involved.
With the new OneWorkplace solution, thanks to over 10,000 secure devices, Securitas employees can live their vision of a safer world in a modern and flexible workplace.

The Securitas Group Switzerland (Securitas) is a leading security company with 27 subsidiaries and over 16,000 employees. It offers a comprehensive range of security services, including surveillance, access control, alarm systems, and much more. The employees are highly qualified and experienced security experts who develop tailored solutions for the specific security needs of their clients using the latest technology. The Securitas Group Switzerland stands for quality, reliability, and innovation. Its goal is to provide its clients with security services at the highest level.

The situation before baseVISION: Challenges for Securitas

  • It was a challenge to efficiently manage the workplaces of the 27 subsidiaries.
  • 20% of the endpoints are fully managed by a third-party provider.
  • The remaining 80% had to manage the endpoints themselves, leading to security risks and inefficiency, reducing synergy potential across the company.
  • Limited opportunities for mobility and collaboration.
  • Lack of transparency and increased compliance risk.

Flexibility and security thanks to “OneWorkplace”

With the OneWorkplace project, baseVISION introduced a holistic approach for all endpoints at Securitas. The joint goal of Securitas and baseVISION was to create a modern, flexible, and secure workplace that empowers all Securitas employees.

  • A modern and flexible workplace with centralized management, standardized processes, and cost savings of over 30 percent.
  • Managed endpoints increased from 20% to 100%.
  • Enabling self-management of subsidiaries.
  • Creating the opportunity for all employees to switch flexibly between companies and work from anywhere.
  • Utilizing synergies across all 27 subsidiaries.
  • Integration of all devices into a single platform.

Our solution: Transition to a flexible workplace

The solution is the OneWorkplace platform – a modern and fully integrated workplace management system that provides centralized management and globally standardized processes for all devices, including mobile devices, MacOS, and iOS. The platform offers a user-friendly self-service portal and flexible service options, allowing each company to decide which services to utilize while everything is managed through a single platform.

  • Feature-by-feature introduction of E5 licenses for all M365 users.
  • Utilizing unique Lenovo manufacturing processes with Windows Autopilot integration.
  • Activation of Windows Autopilot with user self-registration.
  • Activation of Windows Autopilot with user self-registration.
  • Enabling management and interaction with own devices by providing first, second, and third-level support roles for each sub-organization.
  • The individual components of the E5 license are introduced agilely.
  • Provision of network and printing services.
  • Ensuring data separation and data protection.

The transformation

Kick-off Workshop

The first step towards a successful project is to clarify the vision and goals. For this reason, the project team organized a kick-off workshop. This was to ensure that all parties were on the same page before implementation began. During this workshop, the team discussed the project vision, goals, scope, and timeline.

The new “OneWorkplace” platform was developed based on Microsoft’s Zero Trust model.

Onboarding the Big 5

The project roadmap begins with the onboarding of the five largest companies, which means migrating 2,200 devices from a third-party provider into own management. This is the first step towards a modern and flexible workplace. Furthermore, the new platform ensures higher compatibility and security.

Rollout to all companies in Europe

The rollout to all companies in Europe is the next step in the roadmap. All devices in Europe (5,000) will be connected to the OneWorkplace platform. This increases efficiency and standardization across all sites.

Additionally, employees can work flexibly and independently of location, utilizing synergies to increase the company’s value creation.

Onboarding all endpoints worldwide

In the next step, all endpoints worldwide were integrated into the project. This includes the migration of over 10,000 endpoints worldwide to the OneWorkplace platform, enabling centralized management of all devices for troubleshooting and support. It also standardizes processes and software for all employees worldwide, allowing them seamless transitions between companies and locations.

Integration of backend applications and servers

The next step in the roadmap is the integration of existing servers and backend applications into OneWorkplace to make all workloads compatible with the new platform and protect identities. This leads to higher productivity and optimized processes for employees. Additionally, it provides improved access to data and applications for all employees.

Continuous improvement and innovation

To fully exploit the potential of the new OneWorkplace, we are committed to continuous improvement and innovation. This includes the constant evaluation and enhancement of the platform and processes, the introduction of new Microsoft technologies and features, as well as regular employee training. By fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning, the project ensures long-term success and growth.
